About Me
Melanie's Story
Melanie is an experienced registered nurse of more than 35 years with specialty certifications in oncology and medical-surgical fields. She works full-time as a licensed acupuncturist and completed her doctorate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University. She is also a diplomate O.M. (NCCAOM)
Chinese Medicine perceives the individual as being sum of its part. It studies and treats the body when there's disharmony. Yin and yang are used to diagnose ailments and conditions. Traditional Chinese Medicine comprises of a comprehensive collaboration of healing points, herbal medicine, cupping, Qi gong, gua sha, moxibustion, ear acupuncture/seeds, and scalp acupuncture.
Melanie's goal is to bridge the gap between the two worlds of medicine: Traditional Chinese Medicine and allopathic medicine. It is her belief that the union of these two medical systems will contribute to a holistic healing process. Chinese Medicine offers multiple treatment modalities that will suit every individual's needs.

My Hobbies
When she's not at work, Melanie loves to run alongside the beaches of the Monterey coastline and listen to the serene sounds of the waves. She adores spending time with her two wonderful daughters, Vanessa and Leilani, every chance she gets. Family gatherings and cooking for her sisters bring her joy. She also enjoys visiting her home country, the Philippines, which she looks forward to every year.
